DIY Smoothie Bowl

This banana chocolate smoothie bowl is quick and easy plus it tastes unbelievably good. It will take less than 5 minutes to make and will leave you feeling extremely satisfied. The best thing about this recipe is that not only is it the most delicious smoothie bowl ever!! It’s also pretty healthy for you too. The two bananas in this mix will provide you with your daily dose of dietary fiber, potassium, Vitamin C & B. They are really high in antioxidants too which is necessary to avoid getting sick all year round. Bananas also have nutrients that moderate your blood sugar levels after meals, so this will reduce your appetite and keep you feeling full for longer. Another good reason to give this recipe a whirl. If you choose to top your smoothie with goji berries you’ll have that extra burst of flavor with a tasty source of protein to start your day!

You will need:

Smoothie Mix
- High-speed blender
- 2 bananas

- A handful of ice cubes
- A handful of spinach leaves
- Maple Syrup or Honey to taste
- 1 Cup of milk of your choice
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

Topping
- Sliced banana

- Walnuts
- Coconut flakes
- Goji berries
- Any other fruit of your choice

Instructions

To have the perfect smoothie consistency for this mouth watering creation you’ll need to use frozen bananas rather than fresh as this will make the mixture thick and creamy, so night before prep might be needed. The smoothie can be made vegan-friendly too by using almond or coconut milk. First add the bananas, ice, milk, spinach and cocoa powder to a high-speed blender. Pulse until everything is combined. Next pour the mixture into a bowl (Good tip: Make sure your bowl is big enough for your smoothie) and decorate accordingly with banana, walnuts, coconut flakes and any other fruit of your choice.

And enjoy!

Why not add this banana chocolate smoothie bowl to your morning routine? You can always test your taste buds by swapping out ingredients for others to add a bit of variation. Chia seeds, peanut butter, flax seeds or almonds are healthy options. Don’t feel like you have to limit this tasty meal to just breakfast, why not whip this up for an afternoon snack or dessert? When topping your smoothie bowl It’s also a really good idea to use fruits that are in season. This will make it more tasty and affordable. I have used strawberry and bananas.
